Milan City Council banned smoking from public transport stops in the city to parks and cemeteries, stadiums and sports facilities with a new regulation aimed at improving air quality.
In addition, the regulation stipulates that the smoking ban will be extended to all public spaces as of January 1, 2025.
It also requires all gas stations in the city to set up charging infrastructures for electric vehicles until January 1, 2023.

The Municipality of Milan said in a statement on the subject, “This measure has two aims: to help reduce particles (PM10) harmful to the lungs and to protect the health of citizens, including children, from the effects of active or passive smoking in public places.”
