“MAY EXTEND TO THE NORTH ANATOLIAN FAULT LINE”
Earthquake expert Prof. Dr. Stating that the earthquake occurred in the Ankara-Kalecik region, Naci Görür drew attention to its proximity to the North Anatolian Fault Line.
Görür said, “There is a fault with NNE-SSW extension and an apparent length of 64 km. This fault probably extends to the NAF. There is a left-sided strike-slip fault system in Kırıkkale to the south of the fault I mentioned in Kalecik. “If the focus of the earthquake is a bit south, it may fall on this fault system.”

“GREAT EARTHQUAKE EXPECTATION IS WEAK”
Prof. Dr. Şükrü Ersoy said, “If we look at the historical earthquakes, the expectation of big earthquakes after the Ankara Kalecik earthquake (M4.5) is very weak. But the ground geological conditions can sometimes increase the violence, ”he said.

Earthquake expert Prof. Dr. Haluk Eyidogan said, “The earthquake is at the southern end of the active Çankırı fault. It was strongly felt in Kalecik and its surroundings. This earthquake of medium strength is not expected to cause damage. There are 2 aftershocks of magnitude 2.8 and 2.0. There are 2 aftershocks of magnitude 2.8 and 2.0. The earthquake had a 1.7 magnitude pioneering earthquake on 21.02 ”.
